The International Cat Association TICA allows the following breeds (Ocicat, Oriental shorthair, and Egyptian Mau) as permissible outcrosses with Savannahs.
Attention:-
The Bengal breed was being used as an outcross some years ago, but it was proven to be too dominant, eliminating the savannah genes in a few generations. Thus, TICA forbids bengal outcrosses to all breeds, including Savannahs.
Savannah cats entered TICA's championship status in 2012.
